Policies and Guidelines for advertising on the Iowa Section AWWA website
General
The Iowa Section AWWA (IA-AWWA) maintains
a website at the URL address www.ia-awwa.org. The purpose of the website is to help IA-AWWA
fulfill it vision as "the leading force in Iowa dedicated to safe drinking
water." The site serves to promote the activities of the association and
provide information to its members.
The reason for
offering sponsored advertising on the IA-AWWA website is two-fold.
First, it helps fulfill the association's mission by providing increased
visibility to professionals working in the Iowa drinking water industry.
It also promotes the ideals of increased communications, informed
decision-making, and returning value to section members.
Second, sponsorship
provides a mechanism whereby the website can become a self-supporting
activity. The IA-AWWA website is designed and supported by volunteers,
and the only expense is for the internet hosting service. Revenues
generated by sponsored advertisements offset the monthly hosting fees
for the web page.
Qualification of Advertisers
As a general rule, sponsors must provide goods and/or services that are
directly related to the drinking water industry in Iowa. In most cases
this is an easy determination to make and will be handled by the IA-AWWA
webmaster. Where relatedness is not plainly evident, a determination
will be made by the IA-AWWA Public Information Committee.
One benefit for
potential advertisers is that by being a sponsor, they are creating a
perceptual link between their organization and IA-AWWA in the minds of
site visitors. IA-AWWA has worked hard to establish a strong reputation
for honesty, integrity, and professionalism, and truly hopes that it's
reputation "rubs off" on sponsors. However, IA-AWWA also recognizes that
the opposite effect may occur. For that reason, IA-AWWA reserves the
right to refuse sponsorships that are not related to, or consistent
with, the mission, vision and values of IA-AWWA.
Advertising Information
The website will accept one "site sponsor" each calendar month. Please
remember that the site is maintained by volunteers and sponsors are
asked to be understanding fi a link is a day or two late going up.
Advertising space is offered on a first come, first serve basis. Slots
can be reserved no more than 12 months in advance. As long as there are
other organizations wishing to be sponsors, organizations will be
limited to sponsoring the website once per calendar year.
Rates are recommended
by the Public Information Committee and approved by the IA-AWWA Board.
Current rates are $75 for organizations that are IA-AWWA members (or
that have employees who are individual members), and $100 for
non-members. If the demand for sponsorships exceeds available slots,
preference may be given to members.

advertisement will consist of a corporate loge-type graphic.
